Central Texas's Furry Convention

Our mission is to create a fun, educational, and supportive experience for our community, both furry and non-furry, and to build a strong furry community in Central Texas while meeting our primary purpose.

Our Story

Alamo City Furry Invasion started as a concept in 2015 by a small group of furries in the San Antonio area.   A variety of convention types  and venues were discussed and finally settled on a 3-Day All-Ages event to be held at the El Tropicano which was on the banks of the Riverwalk.

 

Expected turnout for this event was not expected to be more than 150-200 people.  Well when the dust settled and the curtains went up for ACFI 2017 we had 737 people registered.  With everything all of the “Big Cons” had including Dealers Den, a Ballroom to house night raves, a gaming room and even a full registration team.

 

After 2 years at The El Tropicano, the hotel was purchased and scheduled for renovation.  Over the next several years attendance grew and we changed venues multiple times.   Each time we moved we were able to upgrade.

 

Post Pandemic Lock Down we were able to settle in a hotel that was brand new and offered a 3 year contract.  This is our current hotel, San Antonio Marriott Airport, located in North San Antonio Texas.   We are in our final year for this venue as we have, once again, outgrown the space they are offering.

 

As we now rapidly approach the 2,000 attendee level, we are excited for the step up to the next level of hotel for 2025.   So please stay tuned as we will be announcing some VERY BIG CHANGES for 2025 not only for the venue but the convention itself.
